Rhapsody on a Theme of Transformation for two pianos, four hands.

Rhapsody on a Theme of Transformation was inspired by the traditional Japanese art of kintsugi, in which artisans fill the cracks in broken pottery with gold or silver, thus transforming the pieces into objects more beautiful than when they were new. Similarly, human beings can grow through trauma or adversity, such as that we which we are currently facing during the global pandemic. The Rhapsody incorporates the themes from two Japanese folk songs, Yanreso Hoi, a song about different kinds of sounds, and Banzai-Bushi, “Happiness Song.” To listen, click here.
